The Olympiad
Five rounds from school heat to national final, across fifteen segments and eight class groups.
Who we are
ICT Olympiad Bangladesh is the country's largest free ICT competition — built so that a student in any district, at any class level, can measure themselves against the best and get the coaching to get there.
Bangladesh produces a large number of graduates every year and a much smaller number of engineers and technologists. The gap is not talent — it is exposure. Most students meet computing as a single textbook chapter, sit one school exam on it, and never test that knowledge against anyone outside their own classroom.
ICT Olympiad Bangladesh exists to close that gap. We publish a syllabus that maps to the national curriculum, open it to every class group from Class 1 to university, and run a competition that ends on a national stage. Entry is free, the learning material is free, and the coaching comes from a mentor network that reaches into the districts rather than staying in Dhaka.
No student should lose a place in the national final because of where they live, what their school can afford, or whether they own a computer.
Each season follows the same five-stage path: registration, an online preliminary round, a district round, a divisional round, and the national final. Every round is scored independently and results are published segment by segment, so a student who does well in one topic can see exactly where they stand before the next round begins.
The fifteen segments run from Basic Concepts of ICT and Computer Hardware & Software up to Artificial Intelligence, Robotics & Machine Learning, Blockchain and Quantum Computing. Younger class groups sit a focused subset; senior groups sit the full set. The syllabus page shows the exact mapping.
The programme is delivered by students, teachers and working professionals: a core management team, a jury board that adjudicates the finals, industry and educator scholars who write the syllabi, ambassadors who run activity on their own campuses, and the 381 mentors who coach week to week. It is funded by partners so that participation stays free.
